Plot Summary: The lose of a mother to an incurable disease, is indeed a tragic setting for two brothers. However through a power called "Alchemy", they try to bring her back but this was a grave and only taboo (law) for alchemy users; the resurrection of the dead.The resurrection fails, and the price of this type of alchemy was indeed quite a serious punishment.Edward Elric loses his left leg while the younger brother, Alphonse Elric loses his entire body.To save his brother, Edward sacrifices his right arm and is able to affix his brother’s soul to a suit of armor. With the help of a family friend, Edward receives metal limbs – “automail” – to replace his lost ones. With that, Edward vows to search for the Philosopher’s Stone to return the brothers to their original bodies, even if it means becoming a “State Alchemist”, one who uses his/her alchemy for the military. Brotherhood is something you really need to watch as an anime fan. It's also something you can easily share with your girlfriend or boyfriend who isn't big into anime. While the show does have it's violent and gruesome moments it plays it so masterfully that the show will never gross you out or put you off the story.
The Animation is great just by looking at the first episode i was hooked
While Edward makes a great lead character, I feel fullmetal really shines because of its supporting characters.
